Building desks for non-profits

On February 10th, I had the opportunity to work alongside mentors and mentees, building desks with our own hands to be donated to various nonprofits across Houston. This annual event served as a fantastic learning experience, introducing me to power tool usage and emphasizing the value of contributing time and effort to the community we call home.

Students from all six of our mentor locations across Houston attended Build It Forward and had the opportunity to learn how to use tools, work with professionals from the industry, experience innovative technologies used in building and design, and give back to their communities. It was an exciting day for us aspiring young contractors, architects, and engineers!
