A space of experimentation where ideas, narratives, whims, sensations and perspectives are translated into a visual art medium. The creativity on offer here will inhabit those interstices between image and text, motion and scene that comic book illustration and digital animation are so apt at expressing. The artworks on offer here are designed to induce visual delight first and foremost, but also to provoke reflection on the artmaking process itself. Scott Mcloud’s magisterial “Understanding Comics” has had a deep influence on this blog and my own work. Mcloud takes seriously the idea that philosophy is sometimes best embodied in the form of sequences of visual imagery, rather than static formulae. Be warned: the works here will fire your imagination to such a degree that you might just have to conduct your own made art-scientist experiments. If you send those experiments to me, then, who knows, they might find their way on to this blog in upcoming posts...
